Data Engineering
Crafting innovative data pipelines and managing cloud-based data warehouses that deliver impactful, trustworthy business insights at scale.

I build the pipelines that turn raw data into decisions.
About Me
Welcome to my corner of the digital world. I'm Karan — a data engineer who has spent the last decade turning messy, sprawling data into pipelines, warehouses, and insights that businesses can actually act on. My work lives at the intersection of scale, privacy, and clarity.
My journey began with a Master's in Computer Science at the University of Victoria (2018–2020), where I researched healthcare data security and compliance under Dr. Neil Ernst — setting the stage for everything that followed.
Since then I've engineered analytical infrastructure across insurance, banking, music-tech, aviation, and gaming: Azure Databricks & Power BI at Dinify, AWS + Informatica pipelines at Coast Capital Savings, BigQuery/Looker/Pentaho at Beatport, and data masking, governance & anonymization at ICBC.
Today I'm an Expert Data Engineer focused on data privacy at Microsoft Gaming (Activision). I care deeply about clean, maintainable pipelines, privacy-by-design, and making data genuinely useful. Alongside the day job I co-founded Dinify, publish research, and mentor the next generation of builders.
Mentor & consultant for Yagnot · Advisor, Computer Science Dept., Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
